Have you ever heard the phrase … “Obedience is better than sacrifice!” Well, this is not just a phrase as we commonly hear in the world, it is a biblical principal found in 1 Samuel 15:22-23. Take a moment to reflect on things that God has told you to do. Are you procrastinating? Or, are you simply ignoring his instructions? While it is easy to fall into one of the two categories, it is better for you to trust what God is saying. In Jeremiah 29:11, God says, “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.”
Disobedience not only hinders you from what God is calling you to do, but it also blocks your blessings. And here’s the biggie … according to 1 Samuel 15:23, disobedience is a form of rebelling against God and this is as serious as the sin of witchcraft. ? It also says that stubbornness is as serious as false religion and idolatry. ? Ultimately, disobedience is rejecting the Word of the Lord. ? If this message is touching you right now, take a moment to repent and ask God for forgiveness … and then, do what God has instructed you to do.
